Blogging, yep I'm doing it.

Is blogging still a thing? It was huge in the 90s/00s and I was into it. I followed a couple of blogs religiously. Couldn’t wait for the next blog post to be uploaded so I could get an update on whoever I was following at the time. I reckon it served the function that social media serves now, a peek into people’s lives from the other side. Social media is probably the reason blogging died, but, I still think there is a place for it, and I’m doing it. For a few different reasons, and mostly because I’m nap trapped at home with a very young baby, I’ve decided to create a series of blog posts about my upcoming picture book publication, The Construction Site Band.

The blog posts will cover snippets on writing, publishing and promoting a picture book. And a bit about what I’m up to in life, and in writing. Whatever is on my mind and wants to come out of my brain. It’s not really for anyone else, and mostly for me, but I thought I would publish it on my website as there might be emerging writers/illustrators who could find the information useful. And it will definitely give me something to turn my mind to, in between me changing nappies and rocking a baby to sleep (don’t get me wrong, I love being a Mum, but could use a little side project right now).

So, I look forward to doing this for as long as I do it for. Who knows how long that will be, but I reckon when the posts stop coming, you can bet that baby is sleeping more independently and I’m out and about. Until then, if you’re reading, I hope you enjoy..
